Asking the Holy Spirit to Hover Over Your Prayer Targets

I heard a message years ago from Beni Johnson that talked about praying for our kids that the Holy Spirit would hover over them like the Holy Spirit did over the waters at creation. The testimonies that came in were unbelievable how lives were changed and how the prodigals returned.

I encourage you to listen to this song and where it says “Rest on Us” replace the US with the name of the person you are praying for. It is soo powerful to combine worship with prayer as it releases faith inside of us and joins our hearts and spirit with Papa God.

This song was playing right when I turned my car on this morning on Air1, I’m so thankful!
Now I’m so excited to hear testimonies from you!

What was hidden for 1500 years, NOW AVAILABLE

Whoa!!! Teaching the DCF elementary tomorrow on the tabernacle and the ark of the covenant. I want to see a generation who abandon themselves before God. A generation who is not afraid to stick out in a crowd because the glory of the Lord is shining upon them. In 1995 I saw a room full of young people and their faces were shining so brightly I was freaking out. I saw a pictire of the future of the glory of God resting on young people’s faces that it was physically visible. I saw a huge stadium filled with children and young people and as the unity of their intercession rose it broke through the ceiling and began to shoot out all over the city of Portland. It broke chains of people in bondage. In that building represented children and youth from every church in the city.

If we hold up walls between churches and denominations and refused to see what God can do through us because of jealousy or bitterness or hurt or disagreements it will hinder the power of God that He wants to release over our city. As pastors and members, if we hold jealousy or bitterness in our hearts towards other churches we will hinder those in our congregation. No matter what happens in relationships we have to keep our hearts pure before God. If we ever get to the point where we are comparing churches between each other and putting one down to lift another up we are damaging the body of Christ. We are his bride! What do you think God feels when we point fingers at each other. Churches are not in the popularity contest business.
We need each other, our city needs us to be in unity to walk in love. For the sake of our children and future generations we need to love each other and walk in unity with a pure heart. As my dad & Pastor Joel Hjertstedt always says, “The one who knows goes”. If you know in your heart there’s something between you and another brother or sister in Christ, or pastor, for the sake of our city, our children and your own spiritual heart please go to them and make it right. We need to stand shoulder to shoulder with each other with clean hands and a pure heart so the fire of God can come down to consume us as a forever burning light for him.

Powerful visual son of “Take Me In” Wow

PRAY Until Something Happens – 2016

PRAY Until Something Happens – 2016Today I pray for our families. I pray that the fathers will live a life of purity and accountability with God. That they would be examples to our children and teach them how a young man should cleanse his way. That husbands would love their wives and uplift them. I pray for mothers that we would parent our kids with grace and love. That every word that comes out of our mouth would be in tone and content how the Lord would want us to speak. That as wives we would learn to honor and respect our husbands in word and deed.

Let our children experience the tangible presence of God so intensely that their destiny will be thrust into place. Let them walk in purity and holiness with a passion for You. Thank you that there is NO Jr. Holy Spirit. And greater things will be released through them this year. Let us and our children lay hands on the sick and see them healed, that the blind will see and the deaf will hear, the dead will be raised. No disease is impossible for Jesus to heal!!! HIS BLOOD PAID FOR EVERYTHING.

Most importantly that God would be the center of our homes that we would to walk and talk with Him throughout the day and allow His voice to direct our steps. That we would serve each other and the body of Christ with a willing heart. So the world will see Jesus in us THE HOPE OF GLORY and come to His loving arms. Father God come and move in our country. We lift you up and magnify your Holy Name. The name that is above all names. Come and stir your church to walk, talk and be your hands and feet to the world. Let the trembling that is felt in the spirit break forth demonstrations of your glory in a powerful way. Let health and wholeness which is our spiritual birthright be released over us that we might walk in your power and might. Jesus you have already won every battle! You are our captain and we stand at attention in your army.

Use us Lord, let us be a light in this word. You said if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. Let us see this year every prodigal return, every hardened heart softened and salvation and restoration come to our loved ones. Thank you Father that greater is He that is within us than he that is in the world. We are MORE than Conquerors because of the blood of Jesus. And NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US SHALL PROSPER!! HALLELUJAH AND AMEN!!

PARENTS: YOU are a Worship Leader

worship with your kids

There is nothing like the sweet presence of Jesus filling our home as we worship! I just sat down at the piano which I dont do very often, and began playing from my heart a few songs that flowed right into each other. This morning I have been singing I Surrender All. So I started with that, then a song God gave me in High School. Next I exalt Thee and I love you Lord. When I was done I looked and David was curled in a ball crying saying that was the most amazing thing I have felt and heard. I told his it was the presence of Jesus. That when our worship goes up to him, He comes down and spends time with us. We dont even have to sing any words, he knows our hearts.

Elicia was crying on the couch in the other room because she was sad about her missing kitty. She said when she heard the music she felt peace and stopped crying.

 Oh, Jesus we love You and Your presence. Take over our lives, let our children experience the outpouring of your presence and the filling of your Spirit. Take control and consume us with only you. ‼️

God is Jealous for YOU!

IMG_2120

This morning I saw a picture from a trip to the Lego Store with my boys and it reminded me that God is jealous for us. He is fierce to protect us against from the evil that comes at us.

I found an article which matches what I am saying perfectly. It even talked about jealously as Shakespeare quoted as being “green” like the hulk in my picture! http://www.girlfriendsingod.com/2012/god-is-jealous-for-me/

This thought puts me at rest in many ways. I know God has got my kids back, He has my husbands back and mine. We are not alone. Even though the face of “the Hulk” in the pic looks scary, to me it shows the intensity God is ready to fight for me with. He loves us with an everlasting love.  Nothing you can do can take that away. No matter how far you run or try to hide, He wants to protect and cover you. Under the shadow of His wings, but in this case, his very muscular arms!

Song of Solomon 8:6-
“Put me like a seal over your heart, Like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death, Jealousy is as severe as Sheol;
Its flashes are flashes of fire, The very flame of the LORD.
7“Many waters cannot quench love, Nor will rivers overflow it;
If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love, It would be utterly despised.”

Freedom for your children: Breaking thoughts of agreement

ps-19-14

This morning I had to walk my son through some steps of freedom. Even though he is trying his hardest in school and is getting the work done, it is so intense he feels like he is drowning. For a kids with learning challenges, growing up means everything gets harder. He began agreeing with the lies of the enemy and last night and this morning came into my room because of disturbing dreams. He had a dream that there was a scary lion outside our house looking at him and it came onto our porch. This morning we had a long talk and prayer time. I read with him in

1 Pet 5:8 “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”

I told him that when life is hard the enemy puts thoughts in our minds like we are a failure, life & school is torture, I want to give up, and when we agree with those thoughts and speak them out loud or draw them on our homework, are are coming into agreement with him and allowing him to take a cubby in our mind. We then prayed together and I had him repeat a prayer of asking forgiveness for agreeing with the specific thoughts he was having, Then asking and receiving the Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness & Self-Control (Fruits of the spirit) Of God. His mood completely shifted after we prayed.

When the kids get home we are going to go through Psalms 19 and talk about our thoughts. Parents, take advantage of every opportunity to show your kids the freedom that is found in the word of God and what it means to walk through life in that freedom. Even children can come into agreement with the lies of the enemy. We need to recognize when that happens and walk them through a prayer time of freedom. The dream that my son had, I thank God for!! Even though it scared him, it allowed this beautiful opportunity to share the truth of the word of God. I am so grateful!

Psalms 19: 7-14

 The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.

10 They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.

14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Parenting has it’s limits: But so does the TV

Updated: September 5, 2014

We have just started the new school year. After opening up the media during the summer to being allowed every day with a max of 2-3 coins, I was wondering what would happen when school started and we put our strict rules into effect of only media on Fri, Sat & Sun. To my surprise, there were absolutely NO FITS!!  Haha, YES! If you are a parent you know what it is like to clamp down the rules again and the kids fight against it. BUT, on Wednesday all of my kids fell right back into line with the expectation that the TV & Computer & Electronic Devises are to be off every day till after school on Friday. Let me assure you, the Peace that has filled our house this week makes me want to keep it all 365 days of the year. Absolutely Wonderful!!

(Facebook Post March 16, 2014)

4 weeks- still shocked! Amazed at how our household has transformed after being electronic free (except for only a 2-3 hours on the weekend)!

My kids are coming home from school now playing with the toys they never used to play with, David was freaking out because his new TimeFlyz book came in the mail- this kid has read for leisure more in the last 4 weeks than in the 3 years. He also built a big Lego set he bought in 2 days. Elicia received a surprise present in the mail yesterday, “Frozen” DVD and didn’t even complain that she couldn’t watch it until the weekend, which she would have to use her only media allowance on it. Isaac is playing basketball after school instead of begging to play his before allowed 30 min of XBOX time.

All my kids are at peace with one another and myself. The amount of time they now spend together playing is something I have wanted to see or the last 7 years. I just had to finally go along with my husbands desires and shut the stupid brain sucking TV off. There is no reason why we have to allow it to be on for long periods of time.

The peace and joy that has filled our house as a result is astounding! My kids only get 2 gold chocolate coins a weekend to spend on a 30 minute electronic time per coin. then we may watch a show or two as a family. but that is it!! Bring on the brain activity and healthy exercise!
