I once had a friend ask me why I go to church all the time. My answer was simple, There is safety in a multitude of counselors. I don’t know about you but I need accountability in my life. If I just Stay at home and never have fellowship, I am missing out on having a lot of trusted godly people speak into my life. Many times people do not want to open up if they don’t know their pastors, but it’s hard to know who your your pastors and spiritual leaders are if you don’t go to church and interact with them. I mean Facebook is great and all, but that is not real fellowship. The devil wants to isolate us, he knows if he can isolate us from the body of Christ then we are more open to him twisting our life into knots. There is something about corporate worship, exhortation and hearing what God wants to speak to us as a body and as a region that you just don’t receive from home. Every church has a mandate given to them by God. As a member of that body you are a part of that incredible blessing and responsibility. There is a trend going on right now that going to church is just a bunch of legalism. To me that is just a lie from the enemy. Every time I am burdened down and heavy and feel like there’s no way I can go to church, that is just the day that God has an incredible breakthrough for me to receive. The encouragement and prayer that takes place, as well as, the friendships built and strengthened has lifted me higher than any facebook post or online message I have ever read and listened to. That’s a fact!
Hebrews 10:24-25 “and let us consider thoughtfully how we may encourage one another to love and to do good deeds, not forsaking our meeting together as believers for worship and instruction, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more faithfully as you see the day of Christ’s return approaching. “
