Can We Trust Him?

Do you Trust Me?
This can seem like one of the scariest questions God could ask us. We might have an automatic response to say yes, on the other hand the reality of what he might be asking us to give up is massive. Are we willing to give up the little that we have in our hand to God believing that he will supply everything we need? We’ve grown up saying Jehovah Jireh is my provider but when asked to give up the last bits of oil and flour to make a loaf of bread, would we respond like the Widow with Elijah?

To me, it’s interesting to read the first sentence of this story, it said the brook had dried up because there had been no rain in the land. No rain and no brook means – no water to the crops for wheat or the Olive Tree for oil. If you’re in business that can mean no customers and no sales. I know what that’s like. As a business owner it can bring a sense of panic wondering where your supply is going to come from.

Elijah the prophet asked the widdow of Zarephath bring him some water and also a little cake of bread. He didn’t first tell her if you do this, then it will never run dry. He just asked her to do something for him. She didn’t reply with a happy heart, “Sure no problem, I’ll go do that for you.” She pleaded with him that it’s all that they had left for just themselves to eat then they would die. It shows her desperation.

The response of the Widow of Zarephath shows that they must of hardly had any food or oil for quite a while. She must have been scraping by to only have a little bit left to say they would make their food then die. It shows they were already in starvation mode with no other hope of getting nutrients. She was a widow who only had her son left. A son that meant the world to her who she had been taking care of for who knows how long on her own. She had to be a very very hard working woman and loved her son very much. Why would she take the last bit of food out of his mouth and give it to a stranger?

She said all she had left was a “handful of flour in a jar and a little bit of oil left”. A handful of flour is probably around a half a cup maybe a little bit more. To make a small loaf of bread in my bread machine it takes three cups of flour for a small 1.5lb loaf. So a third of that is just a few slices. But hers was unleavened, no yeast bread, so it meant if she only used oil and flour that is a very hard dense small loaf that does not fluff up like ours. Just to put that in perspective it was a very tiny meal left that she would share with her son.

After she shared her desperate heartcry with Elijah he said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’”

It’s no surprise that he told her Don’t Be Afraid!

Oh, the faith and obedience of that woman! She didn’t give out of her abundance, she gave out of her lack. She was sowing into a field the last of her seeds in hope of a harvest. Her obedience not only provided for her and her son but also for the man of God who stayed with her for a time.

Can you imagine how she could have shared the testimony of this miracle with the town around her? How God is miraculously providing for her. Or did she keep it to herself so her neighbors didn’t come and try to take what she had as well. It is very interesting because it was enough for her, her son and Elijah. I wonder what would have happened if she tried to give it away and if it still would have been replenished. Interesting thought to ponder.

BUT! This isn’t the end to the story. That wasn’t the last of her calamities. Her son got sick and died while Elijah was staying with them.
Verse 17. Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. He grew worse and worse, and finally stopped breathing. 18. She said to Elijah, “What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?”

It’s so interesting how quickly she forgot the miracle God was continuing to do for her household by supplying her with flour and oil.

It can be so easy, even after receiving a blessing from God to quickly question his goodness and promises by allowing fear and doubt to slip in. Just like the children of Israel did in the wilderness, when they quickly forgot all the Miracles that God did for them and complained. I love how the Bible shows our raw humanity and struggles of faith.

19“Give me your son,” Elijah replied. He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed. 20Then he cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, have you brought tragedy even on this widow I am staying with, by causing her son to die?” 21Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, let this boy’s life return to him!”

22The Lord heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived. 23Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, “Look, your son is alive!”

24Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth.”

The only risk in giving it all to God, when he asks, is absolutely nothing! We can trust Him.

God owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalms 50, wow that is quite a passage. I will let you read it so I don’t offend anyone!) If we sell our little bit of cattle on our hill it’s not the end. God owns the cattle on all the other hills and he will supply every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phillipines 4:19.

Trusting God should be the easiest thing in our life to do. He has shown himself faithful over and over and over again. We might think we have the best plan that will get us the best result, but in Isaiah 55:9 it says that God’s ways are higher than our ways his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We can make a plan, but it’s the Lord who directs our steps. Prob 16:9

Commit your works to the LORD [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]. Proverbs 16:3

If we are walking step by step living in purity before God, acknowledging his ways and following his paths, He will guide us and provide for our needs. He’s a good God who loves us so much. Doesn’t mean that this life is going to be easy but it means that he has our back and will take care of us. We can trust Him!

1 Kings 17:7-16
New International Version
Elijah and the Widow at Zarephath
7 Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. 8 Then the word of the Lord came to him: 9 “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” 10 So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, “Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?” 11 As she was going to get it, he called, “And bring me, please, a piece of bread.”

12 “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”

13 Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid.

15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. 16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.

Knowing the will of God & Making Good Decisions

Having always been taught by my dad, when making decisions and trying to figure out the will of God to remember James 3:17-18
That the wisdom of God is peaceable.
At first, I can be quick to think that if I do not have peace initially, then it can’t be God’s will to do.
However, when I take a step back, I realize how much of my flesh and carnal thoughts get in the way of what God’s true will is. I can wrestle against something that I feel He has said because of human fears or anxiety about the unknown. That does not mean he doesn’t want me to do it! It can mean that I need to lay down my fears and anxiety at His feet and put my complete trust in Him.
It is ONLY after I have done that completely with a pure willing heart that I need to step back and reevaluate my “Peace Level”.
At that point, as I compare what I feel he is saying with the Bible (that it doesn’t contradict what it says in there), I get godly counsel from spiritual leaders then move ahead with the steps needed to put a peaceful plan in motion.

For me when I hear God tell me something that goes against what my first initial reaction is, there are many times I just have to suck it up and obey. The best part is that He Has Good Things In Store For Those Who Believe and Put Their Trust In Him. He knows the future better than I do 😂 Yes, of course he does. I just need to trust him that he has my best interest at heart and wants to give me peace and bless me.
Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.I will be found by you,’ says the Lord, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and I will [free you and] gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,’ says the Lord , ‘and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’

James 3:17-18
But the wisdom from above is first pure [morally and spiritually undefiled], then peace-loving [courteous, considerate], gentle, reasonable [and willing to listen], full of compassion and good fruits. It is unwavering, without [self-righteous] hypocrisy [and self-serving guile].And the seed whose fruit is righteousness (spiritual maturity) is sown in peace by those who make peace [by actively encouraging goodwill between individuals]. –

Matthew 7:7-11
7 “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will [instead] give him a stone?10 Or if he asks for a fish, will [instead] give him a snake?11 If you then, evil (sinful by nature) as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him. –

How to be a REALIST while operating in FAITH

🔘How to be a REALIST while operating in FAITH.

Sometimes there is a conflict between a realistic mindset and a faith-filled lifestyle.
🤔 The realistic mindset says: based on these facts this is and will be my result.

🛐A lifestyle of faith says: because of these facts I hold fast to the promise that God has given me and I will have these results.

At times, the faith filled lifestyle will take the first step and expect God to do all the rest. Unfortunately, many people stop at that first step, and do not ask for wisdom and understanding to know what THEY should be doing to encourage the process along.
Not asking for wisdom for the next step, it is like burying your talent in the ground and expecting it to produce something. What did the master think about that?

If we are the bride of Christ then that indicates a joining partnership. When we partner with God we are coming together listening to each other, strategizing and executing specific plans. This may not relate to Everyday Life, but for me as a business owner I take my partnership with God seriously because the future of our company depends on it.

For instance the design show we just had in Los Angeles, which was a massive investment for our company, may not have produced instant sales at the show (just 1) but this is where faith in action comes in. I believe the first small strategies are in play now with ideas God gave me however, that is just the start. I choose to not only have faith but ask for divine strategies to go after the leads we received in a completely new way than they have ever experienced before from a company.
🤔💕🛐
In the end, you can have faith and be a realist. You just can’t be a realist and allow fear and doubt to come in to squash your faith. .😉

Dream with God

Do you realize that when you have dreams that are far superior to what you ever thought you could accomplish that God knows that is just the tip of the iceberg for the Destiny has for you. I’m telling you this, dreaming with God is like nothing else on earth! Tim and I started dreaming, strategizing and putting together the numbers for a different focus in our business. It would put our tables in places that we have only dreamed about so far. Looking at the numbers with the expenses of a very expensive to run business we didn’t know how it would be possible.

💥BUT WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! 🌈 WE HAVE SAID SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING THIS IS HIS BUSINESS AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT IF WE LISTEN TO HIS VOICE AND OBEY!!

So just now someone came down from Alaska and bought enough slabs to finance our new endeavor that we will be doing in June. More details of that to come! Ha ha 😁🙏🏻👍🏻
Matthew 6:8 “for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”

HE SURE DOES!!!
🤷🏼‍♀️ When you are at a point in life or you are feeling stuck and not advancing. There’s a reason you’re feeling that. God is a rustling the ground under your feet. It doesn’t mean jump ship and do something stupid and crazy 🤦🏼‍♀️. It means he is starting to prepare you for something and it is our responsibility to SEEK HIM!! 🙏🏻We need to begin to pray and ask him what he has for us, read the Bible🎚, soak in His Presence in worship. 🛁 He is not going to prepare something for you and not tell you about it. 🗣That only happens when we are not in a position to listen. 👂

My husband had a revelation last week that Faith is a VERB. It takes action. I looked up this verse and it says it very clearly. I love the message version

James 2:21-24 Was our father Abraham not shown to be justified by works of obedience which expressed his faith when he offered Isaac his son on the altar as a sacrifice to God?

💥You see that his faith was working together with his works, and as a result of the works, his faith was completed reaching its maturity when he expressed his faith through obedience. 💥

And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and this faith was credited to him by God as righteousness and as conformity to His will,” and he was called the friend of God. You see that a man believer is justified by works and not by faith alone that is, by acts of obedience a born-again believer reveals his faith.

I love how the word of God speaks to all situations to confirm what we are sensing!
More than anything anticipate great things because God loves you and has better plans for your life then you could even imagine.

I will end with one of my favorite life verses! Praise the Lord He sees every day if our life till the end! Hallelujah! He is a good good father!

Isaiah 55:8-13 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts higher than your thoughts. “For as the rain and snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth, Making it bear and sprout, And providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void useless, without result, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. “For you will go out from exile with joy And be led forth by the Lord Himself with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands. “Instead of the thorn bush the cypress tree will grow, And instead of the nettle the myrtle tree will grow; And it will be a memorial to the Lord, For an everlasting sign of His mercy which will not be cut off.”

My Dream Fulfilled – The Blessing

Last night I saw this scripture fulfilled in my dream. While the dream was happening I did not see the correlation but as soon as I woke up from it God spoke this verse. I walked into a house that was not my current house but I knew it was mine. As I walked in I looked up at the corners of the ceiling and they were buckling down like a huge load was on top of them. When I examined each room I could see the ceiling broken and pieces of a hard food falling down from it. When I went upstairs the ceiling was bending down and broke through in the corners. When I got to my bedroom I looked through the cracks of the door and the whole room was filled with this glowing hard food substance I couldn’t even open the door because it was completely filled. I was baffled in my dreamAs I woke up I heard God quote this verse:

Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

Two days ago my husband received a phone call that he had been waiting a year and a half for. Since we have a tree milling, drying and custom furniture business we need to buy large trees. The trees we buy are not cheap. The call came in that a large amount of trees were available for us to purchase but we have to come up with $15,000 in order to purchase them before someone else does. He was excited but wondered how in the world we would come up with the money we needed. With in 90 minutes we had clients come in and give us checks for the ENTIRE amount needed to buy the trees. We have Never had that large of sales in that short amount of time. One Custom Furniture order was 3/4ths the amount we needed!!! Hallelujah.

But the verse has a preface to it and we walked that out two weeks ago. There had been quite a lull from January to the beginning of February with sales and customers. We couldnt figure out what was happening. Then Tim remembered we hadn’t tithed yet on a large order that came in a couple months prior. So a couple weeks ago I prayed and payed our business tithe check at church. The next day God gave me a new strategy to urgently set in place for our website. And we began to break every record of views we previously had had. This was just days before leading up to the trees and orders to cover it. Old Testament principles in the Bible were put there for a reason and they still work today. We do not give to get! However, the principles are in the Word making sure we are not robbing God and ourselves of a blessing.

Here are the verses just prior to the blessing:

Malachi 3:7-9 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.“ But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.“ But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’“In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me.

Then VS 10.

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. TEST ME IN THIS,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

If God says to test Him, TEST HIM! I don’t know anywhere else in the Bible where it says this! God is faithful and His word is true. We have seen this in our life so many times and I am thankful now for visual picture of what it looks like for a storehouse to be flooded more than it can contain.

So I am declaring this over you! What provisions do you need God to do for you? Have you stood on His Word and obeyed? Have you declared to the brass heavens above you to OPEN IN JESUS NAME! Have you repented of a poverty mindset? Will you take God at His Word and believe that what He said He will Do! Hold Him to His promises over you, declare and decree them over your life and your family. There is nothing impossible for our God. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills- He owns everything! He cares for every need and desire and He has your back! Lets keep our eyes on Him because then we are not consumed with the heaviness the enemy wants to put on us. There is freedom in His presence. There is joy in giving when we know we are giving it back to Him. He is our rock and our resource guide! HA! If He can make water come from a rock, so you think a little bill scares Him? I declare the dream I had over you today! It is bigger than just for me. The body of Christ is going to come under the weight of His glory like never before and WE WILL WALK OUT WITH PROVISION IN OUR HANDS NOT JUST FOR US BUT FOR THE WORLD.

Strategies, God is going to release strategies for wealth to the body. He is beginning to give creative ideas, out of the box ideas. Ideas that might scare you at first but after confirmation and under your leaders covering God will make them flourish and grow. Time to break out of fear and step into blessing. Taking the first step into the unknown, like when Tim left an awesome good paying job to run our company full time, is hard at first. BUT IF IT IS GOD, HE WILL MEET YOU AND SUSTAIN YOU! Bless your people Lord so we can be a blessing! All for the honor and glory of your name! Amen!

Proverbs 3:9-10 Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Financial Breakthrough for Business Owners and Employees

It is very Relieving when you have sensed a call to do something for a season that seems almost contrary to what you would typically be sensing in the spirit. Not bad in a sinful way, but some would say more materialistic. Except when God tells you to do something and then confirms it through His Word and other spiritual leaders – and I feel peace – I must do it! 🌈 Working Hard and Applying practical things like work and providing for our family is not a “faithless” attitude – it is an Act Of Faith and preparing ourselves to RECEIVE a great Harvest!! Both in the natural and in the spiritual.
The lights of your churches don’t stay on because God touches the fuse box! It is time for God’s people to plunder the enemy’s camp and take back what has been stolen and receive our inheritance. The wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. We need finances to pour into ministries to extend the kingdom of God. We need our financial mindset to be that we are blessed to be a blessing. We need our pastors to be taken care of financially so they can pastor without the stress of finances. We need to teach our people to get out of debt so the freedom and blessing of God can flow!

People of God (especially business owners and managers) it is time to put our hands to the plow, expand your warehouses, stretch out your steaks, build new storehouses because God has a harvest of souls that will need the resources coming into our hands to support. Just like Nehemiah, as the people were building the wall, they had a shovel in one hand and a sword in the other. It is time for God’s people to not only be on their face crying out to God, but taking up the shovel positioning ourselves for blessing and breakthrough in our finances and businesses. Hallelujah, I receive it!

Kingdom Business: Christ in the Workplace

Christ in the Workplace- praying for a Buddhist Prayer-Toy

(Facebook post Aug 12, 2014)

Never in my life would I have expected to get this close to laying hands on hundreds of Buddhist. Haha! A guy just came to our shop and purchased for the second time, wood to make his Buddhist prayer objects. As I laid hands on each piece of wood, I prayed in the Spirit, that as every Buddhist would use this to pray to their god, they would have a personal and powerful encounter with Jesus Christ the Son of God.

The business owner who is purchasing from us said he will come back and use us every time. At first, I thought why in the world would I want our product to make prayer objects for an idol. But the power of Jesus is far greater than the power of a dead god. I just laughed because he has no idea how he will impact the world for Jesus Christ, instead of Buddha. Hallelujah hahaha
