This was God’s word to me this morning, I know someone else out there needs it also. Praying you receive the peace of God today as you rest in Him while walking side by side attached to His gentle yoke.

Happy Thanksgiving
As Americans we have rich history of godly leaders who founded our nation with truth and faith. We can never forget our roots! Please take time to read some of the Thanksgiving proclamations from our presidents past. I cant wait to shake President Lincoln’s hand in heaven and thank him for all he did for our country. His proclamation is just as true today as it was then, do you see the similarities? We need a President Lincoln for our generation!
Here is an amazing article of what the true meaning of Thanksgiving is for Americans.

Washington, D.C. October 3, 1863
By the President of the United States of America.
A Proclamation.
The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequalled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States to be affixed.
Done at the City of Washington, this Third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the Eighty-eighth.

Recipe for Peace- whats on Your newsfeed?
If you spend any time watching the news or way too long looking at your newsfeed, than you know it is getting crazy out there. Dwelling on what is going on in the world without balancing by taking time resting in God’s presence and reading the Bible will lead to unnecessary anxiety. One of the last things my Grandpa David Hjertstedt told me before he died was to always keep my eyes open to what is going on around the world so I know how to interceed. He lead a long life of sacrifice and service to God while interceeding 24/7. He would lay on his bed all night weeping and groaning for the world to come to salvation. He taught my family and thousands of others to always have a pulse on the world and keep our ears open to what the Spirit of the Lord was saying.
To be honest, lately, I have gotten out of balance. With all that is happening with ISIS, the Middle East and the lack of godly leadership coming from the White House my heart and mind and been overwhelmed. My source of peace has been right there but I did not turn to Him. Today, I began looking up verses on Peace. While I read them it was like the Word slapped some sense back into me. We have to keep both eyes on Jesus Christ who is the salvation of our world, while looking at the world He holds in His hands. When our eyes are only on the world and where it is heading we are willingly allowing anxiety, stress and fear enter our heart and spirit. The last thing you want is for a door to be left open to the enemy. CLOSE THAT DOOR IN JESUS NAME!! Repent for opening the door. Close the Door of fear! Close the door of worry! And Close the Door of doubt! Do not allow your good intentions of being alert to what is going on so you can pray, to be turned into an open door where the enemy can take advantage of your sensitive heart.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
We need to make sure we let God carry the burdens while we walk side by side with Him carring His yoke.
So my encouragement to you today is to stop watching/listening to the news for a while and set your focus on Him. Fill your facebook newsfeeds with scripture and encourage others where they can find true peace. Are we being a testimony of peace or are we only stirring fear? Never stop sharing truth of what is really going on in the world because too many people feel better with their heads in the sand. THAT IS NOT AN ACT OF BEING VIGILANT! Some Christians think that getting into politics or world affairs is not a position of peace, but in reality it is exactly what Jesus encouraged us to do.
1 Peter 5:6-9 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
We need to be ambassadors of PEACE! We need to hold up the banner of Peace, Truth and Righteousness. There is an old song I remeber and the chorus goes “For the captain of the Host is Jesus. We are following in His footsteps. No foe can stand against us in our land!”
PRAY -BE ALERT & AWARE- SPREAD PEACE – SHARE THE SALVATION THAT ONLY COMES THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!
May the Lord Bless You, Protect You and give you Peace
I needed this verse this morning and tried to find the perfect picture to put behind the verse. I am holding on to God’s promise in Numbers 6:24-26 and declare it over you today!
Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you, and keep you protect you, sustain you, and guard you; The Lord make His face shine upon you with favor,And be gracious to you surrounding you with lovingkindness; The Lord lift up His countenance face upon you with divine approval,And give you peace a tranquil heart and life.’ Amplified Version
Despite your season Never forget this
Hello!!- He Is Doing A New Thing – Don’t You See It!
For those of you who need HOPE awakened inside of you let this verse be your promise, as we forget the past and look forward to what lies ahead, We press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Jesus Christ, is calling us. Phil 3:13-14.
Isaiah 43:18-19 “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new.See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?I will make a pathway through the wilderness.I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
I love seeing the parallel of the Old Testament and the New Testament in these two promises.

My Favorite Song, Hope’s Anthem! Let your hope be stirred this morning!!
A season of completion of promises.
When I saw this video yesterday (https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153476138975921)
I could not get out of my mind what I believe God was saying. I kept hearing the phrase , THIS IS A SEASON OF COMPLETION OF PROMISES! Get ready for the promises that God has spoken over your life to begin to come full circle. One of my favorite life verse is
Isaiah 55:11 “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
God can not lie. What He has said, He will do! Take hold of His promises and declare them over your life. When you come into agreement with His promises and declare them over your present situation it is activating your faith and aligning your prayers with God’s will.
Matthew 21:21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
We cannot even comprehend the amount of creative energy that is held in a single word that God speaks. God spoke and it was created! What words of God are you speaking over your life?
Wait for the Lord
A week of heartbreaking news for many loved ones makes this verse Ring in my soul. God is our hope, our sure foundation. When we are seated in heavenly places with the King of Kings our focus in life must be from God’s perspective down. When we see life through His eyes- THERE IS HOPE. Let the Prince of Peace fill you with His Comfort, Hope and Joy today!

Smiling in the outside -Crying on the inside
My heart has been so burdened for the broken-hearted. I have been praying that God will lift you up and draw you into His arms. In His arms of Love is the most comforting and safe place to be. I hope this picture and scripture stays in your heart today as a reminder that we have Hope!
Psalm 3:3-6 “But you, Lord, are a shield around me,my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. I lie down and sleep;I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. ”
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Zephaniah 3:17
“The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
1 Corinthians 2:9
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Revelation 21:4
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Psalms 23: 4,6
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. … Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Faith and a tribute
I shared this verse with my friend Diane Callahan last year when a group of friends gathered to declare life into her cancer afflicted body. Then a few weeks ago the group gathered one last time to pray over her. The last thing I heard her say on this Earth was quoting this verse to the group. It was so precious.
She quoted scripture daily over herself from cards she had written. A woman of faith who declared healing to her body till her last few days. Even though she didn’t receive the full manifestation of her healing till heaven, her example of faith has impacted our church and her friends forever.
We will never take a step back in our belief that God can and will heal. We are going to see an outpouring of the miraculous like we have never seen before. My dad and pastor Joel Hjertstedt stood up at the pulpit yesterday declaring the words of Winston Churchhill, “Never Give Up, Never GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE UP!!”
It was the first Sunday after our associate pastor’s wife Diane went to heaven. He was exhorting the congregation that our faith will not waiver and we will push forward believing to see a cancer free zone over city. We will not settle for anything less. I believe that we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Yesterday at church I wrote
Wow! The presence of God is so intense at Destiny Christian Fellowship. Pastor Joel Hjertstedt preaching a word we all need to hear. Faith and a Tribute to Diane Domenighini Callahan
Psalm 34:17-18 Godly people cry out, and the Lord hears them.He saves them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to those whose hearts have been broken. He saves those whose spirits have been crushed.
